Well, I gotta say I really enjoyed the lan. The environment was sweet and the admins/organizers did a great job. I'll definitely attend the next one.

After saying that, I have some suggestions.

1. A lan party is a lan party, and a tournament is a tournament. That being said, the purpose of any tournament is to declare a winner. ppl can attend the lan without registering for any tournament, and still have a great time (and a ton of prizes to win by raffles). One thing i would like to see as the tournament grows, is the introduction of prizes to tournament winners. Now, before i get attacked, let me state my case. Yes, I think everyone should have a chance to win prizes by raffle, but there really should be a reward for placing first in a contest. The free entry prize is a good reward, but adding something tangible would be even better (especially for those who can't attend the next lan). It could be a small prize pool, or various hardware. Of course the better the prize, the better the competition; but even if the prizes were something like new headsets, or mice, or hdds, or whatever, I think the winner's deserve it.

2.Being a CS player, this is only CS related. The servers should have the most current z-blocks loaded on them. For those of you who dont know what z block is, it's a plugin that prevents users from using exploits by different commands in the console. It is a pretty critical component to any fair cs game. Here's the link to download. http://www.caleague.com/?page=files (the last file)

Ill see everyone at the next lan!

for sure. I think that winners of the tournaments deserve a prize more so than a random draw(raffle). Like, we only got ..i think 4 raffles for winning, and yeah we won stuff, but i think there should be a set prize for tournament winners. It would up the competition and make it a whole lot mroe fun for everyone involved i think.

Try it out once, and see if you like it. See how it goes.

you should sell separate tickets to people who plan to leave early. the event was great but it was a bit disappointing to see the place 3/4 empty on day two.

maybe ticket (a) $35 for the first day
ticket (b) $20 for 2nd day
ticket (c) $50 for the whole thing

that would be a big hassle but how else can you keep people there, or get new people to show up?

the way most lans get people to stay is have longer tournaments. Space it out a bit. It helps to have more teams.. but here's an idea what im talking about

My game is CSS, so i will talk about that.

Day 1: Group play and that usually takes up a good amount of time, enough to call it a day.

Day 2: Double elimination final bracket. This could be done many different ways. The way, which i personally like, that gigafrag is doing this june, is that 4/5 teams that have the most points in group play make it to the double elimination bracket on day2.

Have maybe 1-2 matches going live at a time. It's more fun to be able to watch how people play, especially if you have known them online and have been gaming with/against them for X amount of years. That's the fun part about lanning.

Now, they are doing this with 16 teams, i think AGL had ~12, so it can be done. With that done, that keeps your people there, like you want. Now, what would make the entire tournament 110% better, is to give something(money, hardware) to the winners of each tournament. You guys had what, 3 main tournaments?(css,cod4,tf2). 5x6x6(players) = 17 prizes. Compared to what you had for prizes, that doesn't seem that bad. Even if it's something as small as a MX518 or Steelseries QcK+ or something.

Just an idea that would help..

ppl wouldn't pay this much. As well it seems that it almost encourages people to pay less and come for 1 day. While I agree something needs to be done about the "half-lanners" as I like to call them, I don't think this would help.

As well it would be nice to have the winners of the tournaments win SOMETHING. Everytime I get back from this lan and I tell ppl we won ppl always ask what we got lol, I don't mind telling em raffle prizes but a lot of teams do put effort into the matches so I think they should be rewarded beyone raffle tickets, even if its just mousepad. Just not internet stop buttons lol
